In the fall the most basic thing about me is I love pumpkin spice everything…yup, I said it and I'm not even embarrassed to admit it! Today I have created a nice pampering treat for all over the body. This Pumpkin Spice Exfoliating Scrub not only smells delicious but it is completely edible 😉
Here's the recipe!
Materials Needed:
(This recipe makes about 2 cups)
1/4 cup Canned Pumpkin
1 tbsp or so Pumpkin Spice Seasoning or (mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, and allspice)
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/8 cup (plus more for layering about 1/4 cup or more) White Sugar
1/8 cup Instant Coffee
2 tsp or more Baking Soda
Glass Measuring Cup
Mixing Bowl
Spoon
Can Opener
Mason Jar with Lid
Pumpkin Spice Exfoliating Scrub
- Take the glass measuring cup and spoon. Mix the pumpkin, baking soda (about 1 tsp), and spices (a dash) together well.
- Place mixture in the mixing bowl after blended.
- Add the brown and white sugar (about 1/8 cup), and spices to the same empty glass measuring cup then stir well.
- Pour the sugar mixture into the mixing bowl. Stir with the pumpkin.
- Now add the instant coffee and stir all ingredients together.
- Lastly, layer the white sugar (as much as you like) and the pumpkin mixture inside of your mason jar.
Adding a little decorative touch to the mason jar is always fun for me. Feel free to decorate the jar or just leave as is.
Store in the refrigerator until ready to use or make small batches for use that day. This recipe can also be made in large batches and can be frozen and unthawed in the refrigerator until ready to use. If you decide to store it in the freezer, place the mixture into single use freezer bags. This makes it convenient to grab what you need.
Tip: If you have leftover pumpkin from your fall decor you can slice open your pumpkin, remove the seeds, and bake it until it is soft. Once it's done baking and cooled down, scrape out the pumpkin and use it for this recipe.
Ways to use scrub
As always with anything you use on your body make sure you are not allergic to any ingredients by doing a patch test on your skin first.
This scrub can be used all over the body. I like to use this in-between waxing to help prevent ingrown hairs. It is also really great for hands and feet. Use a bit of the scrub on your hands and feet, massage well, rinse off, then apply your favorite body butter or oil to seal in the moisture. Sleep in moisture gloves and socks for an intense moisture treatment.
Use this scrub for the lips. Apply product to the lips and massage well with your fingers. Lick off the extra scrub or use a damp towel to wipe off the excess. Apply your favorite lip balm after to seal in the moisture.
If you want this scrub to be a bit more moisturizing you can add a little of your favorite oil to it. I like jojoba oil.
Have fun with this simple recipe. Let me know how you like it, and what other creations you come up with.
Thanks for hanging out!
