Best Red Long Lasting Lip Products

If I had to live with only one makeup item it would be red lipstick. Thankfully that nonsense doesn’t have to happen though! Red lipstick looks good on everyone and it is a perfect staple. When I wear bold lip colors I like for them to stay put. There’s nothing worse than flashing those pearly whites with a crap ton of bold color slathered all over them. It happens to the best of us!

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite “stay put” reds. I’m not sure why I’ve waited so long to blog about this because I get asked so often. It was incredibly hard to narrow the list down but I tried my best. There are so many good formulas out there these days. Without further ado here they are.

Liquid lipstick-Stay all day formula

ColourPop makes some of my favorite affordable liquid lipsticks. Their matte formula can be drying if you don’t prep your lips properly but the formula is tried and true for me. They cost under $7 for 3.2 g of product but they often have sales. This product is made in the US. My favorite red shades are Arriba! and Creeper. These all are very similar in tone. Arriba! is a bit more deep while Creeper has a tad bit more orange. They are both bold pigmented reds. The lippies can be purchased here.

Colourpop releases new shades often so you will be sure to find that perfect red if it has previously been discontinued.

Kylie Cosmetics, Mary Jo: Smells like Vanilla and dries more comfortable on the lips. Cost $17 for 3.25 g.
Kat Von D, Outlaw: Dries more comfortable on the lips. $20 Cost for 6.24 g.
NARS, Starwoman: Thin formula similar to a lip stain but more pigmented. $26 Cost for 5.10 g.

Traditional lipstick-Long lasting formula

Surprise, surprise ColourPop makes lots of different formulas and they have nailed this one as well. The Matte X formula in the shade Sky Walking is very good. It is cream based so it is not as drying as the liquid lipstick but dries very matte and lasts on the lips a long time. It is not smudge proof but it is a good alternative for those who want a lasting color with easier removal. This item can be purchased here.

More lux option:

MAC Retro Matte, Ruby Woo: This is a cult favorite! Has a vanilla scent very similar in shade and texture. Cost $18.50 for 3 g of product.

Moisturizing Matte

Matte formulas are my favorite but for those with more mature lips or those who want more moisture here’s one for you. Too Faced, Peach Kiss in the shade Breakfast Club-moisture matte lipstick. It contains 4.0 g for $21. This formula feels very nice on the lips. It has a pleasant peach smell. I often place it on the center of my lips for a little extra moisture. It works great layered with liquid lipsticks. Item can be purchased here.

Higher End Lux Option:

Pat McGrath Labs, MatteTrance Elson 003: Very smooth on the lips. Has beautiful unique packaging. Cost $38 for 4 g of product.

I can go on and on about red lipstick because I love it so much. One thing is for sure though…whatever red lipstick you chose to rock it is definitely confidence in a tube. Rock it fiercely beauty!
